Welcome to Year 3!

On Wednesday, Logan shared some of his impressive knowledge of our solar system. He brought in a poster of the planets that he had produced with his dad. Logan answered lots of questions that the children (and adults) asked.

Year 3 enjoyed a trip to Layer Marney Tower yesterday. They learned lots of information about the Tudor period, including what life was like at school and how they brushed their teeth.

In Science, Year 3 have been carrying out an investigation to test for friction. They were finding out the different heights that their ramps needed to be before their blocks would move across the different surfaces.

In Science, we have been learning about rocks, fossils and soil. As part of our learning we have been making our own compost, with the help of some very wriggly worms!

Year 3 have been learning about Stonehenge this week and have constructed models made from Jenga Blocks.

Year 3 were given the opportunity to take part in a drama workshop about Castles which they will learn further about later on in the year.

We have been studying play scripts, recognising the features and using expression in our voices when acting them out. We have linked our new learning to our current text, The Twits.
In these photos, the children practised reading through the script and following the stage directions. Some of the children performed their play to the class.
